Community guidelines

Last updated 22 October 2026

CampusCrush works when everyone is respectful, honest and safe. Breaking these rules can lead to a warning, a restriction, a suspension or a ban. Every sanction can be appealed.

Be real

  • You must be 18 or older and use your own identity. No impersonation, no fake profiles, no accounts for someone else.
  • Never claim to be a verified student, or a student at an institution, if you are not. Submitting false documents ends your account.
  • Use photos of yourself. No photos of other people without their permission.

Be respectful

  • No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or discrimination, including on the basis of tribe, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability or sexual orientation.
  • No sexual content in profiles or communities, and no unsolicited sexual messages or images.
  • Take "no" for an answer. Do not contact someone who has unmatched or blocked you through other channels.

Be safe and honest

  • No asking for money, gifts, airtime or mobile money; no scams, investment schemes or selling.
  • No spam, advertising or mass copy-paste messages.
  • No sharing other people's private information (phone numbers, addresses, timetables, photos).
  • Events must be held in public places. No events in private rooms or residences.

Tribe and identity

Sharing your tribe is optional and private by default. Using it to insult, exclude or harass anyone is a serious violation.

What happens when rules are broken

Our safety team reviews reports and decides on: a warning, a temporary restriction (no likes, messages or posts), a suspension, or a ban for serious or repeated violations. Content may be removed. You will be told the reason and can appeal within 30 days in the Safety centre; a different moderator reviews appeals.

We report suspected crimes, and accounts that may belong to under-18s, to the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
