Child safety standards
Last updated 22 October 2026
CampusCrush is for adults aged 18 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to the CampusCrush website and the CampusCrush Android app, operated by Studio 13 Developers.
What is not allowed
- Anyone under 18 using CampusCrush, or anyone helping a minor to join.
- Any content that sexualises a minor, including images, videos, drawings, text or links, whether real or generated.
- Grooming: contacting, befriending or manipulating a minor for sexual purposes, or asking anyone for images of a minor.
- Sextortion, trafficking or arranging contact with a minor, and offering or asking for such content.
How we prevent it
- Every member must give a date of birth showing they are 18 or older; the check is made on our server and cannot be skipped.
- Student verification by trained officers, who reject and escalate any sign that an applicant is under 18.
- Automatic warnings on risky messages, rate limits and spam checks; photos are checked by moderators when reported.
- Reports about a possible minor are marked urgent in the safety queue, and staff with safety roles follow the steps below.
How to report
- In the app: on any profile, chat or post, open the menu and choose Report, then pick "May be under 18" or "Inappropriate or explicit content". You can also block the person at once.
- By email: campuscrush@studio13developers.com with "Child safety" in the subject.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call the Uganda Police on 999 or 112, or the Uganda Child Helpline (Sauti) on 116, free of charge.
What we do
- Remove the content and suspend or ban the accounts involved as soon as we confirm a report; accounts that appear to belong to a minor are closed.
- Keep the evidence securely, only as long as the law requires, and never share it except with the authorities.
- Report CSAM and child exploitation to the Uganda Police Force and other competent authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where it applies, as required by law.
- Cooperate with law enforcement requests made under the law.
