Privacy notice
Mobi Save is operated by Studio 13 Developers, Kampala, Uganda (contact: mobisave@studio13developers.com). This notice explains what we keep about you and why, under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.
What we keep
- Your name, phone number and (if you give it) email address, to sign you in and send you notices.
- Your membership in each group and your transactions there: savings, shares, welfare, loans, guarantees, fines and receipts.
- Details your group needs: next of kin, relatives covered by bereavement benefits, identity number. These are encrypted and only officers whose office allows it can see them.
- Referral records: who invited whom, and commissions earned and paid.
- A security log of sign-ins and important actions (with a keyed hash of network addresses, not the address itself, for referral checks).
Who sees it
Your group's officers see what their office allows. Other members see only what your group's rules allow (for example names and masked phone numbers). Mobi Save support staff can see records to help your group but cannot move money. We do not sell your data.
How long we keep it
Financial records are kept as long as your group needs them for its accounts and the law requires (at least seven years). You can ask for a copy of your data, for corrections or for deletion where the law allows by writing to mobisave@studio13developers.com.
Security
Connections are encrypted, passwords are stored as one-way hashes, sensitive details are encrypted, and every money record is kept in an append-only ledger with an audit trail.
